My Husband, My Partner...Future Photog Partner?

It's so wonderful taking pictures day in and day out. I have so many shots of Mark and Avery together that melt my heart each time I look at them! Being the avid and enthusiastic scrapbooker I am, I love my photo collections even more because those pictures make my scrapbooking possibilities virtually endless. But what I've noticed is something I'm pretty sure happens to every mommy out there.....Where are some photos of Avery and I? I'm always the one behind the camera, so I don't have many (good) pictures of me and my bug which makes me sad. This is where my hubby comes in!

Mark snapped this shot of Avery and I that I will cherish forever! Do you know how many times a day I hoist her up and kiss her like crazy, just like this? He captured such a special moment between us not knowing anything, really, about the camera! I was so proud of him! and thankful for this picture of my precious little girl and I!

Yesterday we went to the Aquarium. Avery was in HEAVEN!! I wasn't really sure what she would think or how she would respond to seeing all of the marine life. I'm so happy we took her because yesterday was a day I'll never forget! Every time a fish would swim by Avery she would say, "OOOooooo" and if the fish was bigger, she would say, "OOOooooo" even louder! It was absolutely DARLING! So I handed the camera over to Mark who again snapped a wonderful picture of Avery and I looking at the fish. You can really see how engaged she was, or both of us were, for that matter! And again I have another special picture of the two of us. I'm proud of Mark for putting his inhibitions aside about the camera and just snapping away!

Great job, babe! Keep up the good work, I'm loving your results! And mommies, just remember to hand off your camera once in a while for those sweet shots of you and your babies!

Sunny Day at the Park

Yesterday was such a beautiful day at our house! I decided to pack us up and head to the park. Among the goodies we took with us included snacks, juice, and of course, my camera! In the course of an hour I snapped 67 pictures of my little bugaboo playing, swinging, crawling around around..... etc. I absolutely love shooting outdoors because the light is sooooo beautiful and the colors are so true, but at the same time, the light really throws me off. I feel like when I'm looking through my lens at my subject it looks perfect. But when I get home and put the pics. on the computers all I have are pictures with shadows on faces and it drives me nuts. Here' s a few of what I took yesterday:

I absolutely LOVE this shot of Avery, but in order to avoid the shadows that were ending up on her face in the shots I took before this one, I used my flash which was obviously too much light. (I may be biased, but isn't she just ridiculously adorable?) :)
Loving this shot too, but you can see the shadows on her face that I'm talking about. Grrrrr.... I feel like they ruin a perfectly sweet picture!

Now that I've posted my complaints, here's one that I have no complaints about. I love it because you can see the little drool bubble at her mouth. So precious! She was enjoying the swing so much. She just kind of scooted down and relaxed as I was pushing her. Pretty cute!! :)

If you have any suggestions on how to work with the natural sunlight to avoid those pesky shadows I would love to hear them! For now, we're headed to the Seattle Aquarium! Hope to come back with some neat pics!

Introduction and Welcome!

Hello Everyone and welcome to My Aspiration! My name is Jennifer Rashell and I'm just so excited and happy to be starting and sharing my blog. You're probably wondering what My Aspiration is all about. To put it simply, my aspiration is to be a photographer. Fourteen months ago my inspiration, my daugter Avery, was born to my husband and I. Never could we have imagined or prepared for the love we have exploding in our hearts everyday for our little girl. Talk about a miracle...she has changed our lives in so many wonderful ways forever! Ever since the moment she was born I have not been able to put down my camera. It's become an obsession for me. I absolutely do not want to miss a single precious moment of her life whether it's her sweet face and expressions as she sleeps, the way she snuggles her blankey when she's tired, her fasination with rocks, remote controls, phones, any buttons she can push, and airplanes just to name a few. I also love to capture Avery playing with her daddy.

Now, I know that Avery is my true inspiration for pursuing this photography avenue, but I must also say a few things about my husband Mark. We have been married for almost two years. He is an amazing man and an amazing daddy to Avery and it is because of Mark that I feel I can accomplish anything I set out to do. Since the day I told him I wanted to start my own photography business he has done nothing but encourage me and help me along the way. He bought me my AWESOME camera for my birthday recently. He's definitely my biggest supporter and I am quite possibly the luckiest girl in the world! Nothing brings me greater happiness and joy than to see Avery and her daddy laughing and playing together. Well, that about sums me up. I plan to post pictures daily while improving as I go along. I hope that you will join me on my journey to becoming a better photographer and eventually starting my business. I have so much more to learn but but I'm really enjoying the process and having so much fun with it. Enjoy......!
